11am: My usual yogurt parfait.
1pm: A small cup of medium roast coffee at Starbucks.
4pm: String cheese and tangerine.
8pm: Splendid Spoonful Sweet Potato Cocoa Bisque, leftover tadig, and a nectarine.
{Thursday}
12pm: Chicken quinoa salad from Taste of Tehran in Westwood.
7pm: A smorgasbord of good eats like sushi, pork sliders, Hainan chicken tacos, papaya salad, and donuts dressed with fruity pebbles at The Hollywood Bowl's VIP reception. Pianist Yuja Wang and the LA Philharmonic blow my mind.
{Friday}
11am: M's Acai bowl.
4pm: A nectarine.
7pm: Tiny passed bites of crab salad, polenta, and beef steak at Conde Nast's summer soiree in Beverly Hills. Good, but definitely not filling.
8pm: Grilled octopus, Involtini (baked eggplant rolled with ricotta) at Franco on Melrose and lots of bread.
10pm: Pavilions emergency ice cream run to make a simplified version of ice cream sundae with cookie dough ice cream and hot fudge. I realize I don't like hot fudge.
{Saturday}
2pm: My go to salads at lemonade-green beans with chicken and bay shrimp and cucumber.
4pm: Gelato in West Hollywood at the Diva Group event on one of the hottest days of summer.
8pm: Keeping it simple cooking our first meal in our new kitchen. I make primavera pesto pasta with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach over protein enriched rotini dressed in pesto and olive oil.
10pm: For dessert, I made fudge chewy brownies from a recipe passed down from generations of Wus-the Duncan Hines box top brownies. It's seriously the best brownies I've ever had.
{Sunday}
12pm: Homemade baked egg frittata with a side of yogurt parfait, our first brunch in the kitchen! I mix the eggs with almond milk, a little bit of canola oil, and toss in sautéed veggies like spinach, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms. And I add some thyme, rosemary, sea salt, black pepper, and parmagiano for flavor. M loves it!
7pm: Dinner at Garden Cafe in Arcadia. I get the grilled chicken steak and pork chop combo that comes with Chinese style mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, and a side of pasta. I started going to Garden Cafe when I was in high school so stepping into the restaurant was like stepping into a time capsule. Nothing has changed except for the advertising printed on their paper settings.
{Monday}
11am: My first cup of Nespresso in the new house!
12pm: Steel cut oatmeal with greek yogurt, plum, blueberries, and ground sesame seeds.
3pm: Ham, cheese, and spinach sandwich on whole grain bread.
7pm: I make mapo tofu and sautéed pea shoots with garlic, two of M's favorite Chinese dishes and eat them with picked vegetables and rice.
9pm: A piece of brownie and a banana.
{Tuesday}
12pm: Leftover egg frittata with a side of spinach and cherry tomatoes and a piece of toast slathered in strawberry jam.
3pm: Greek yogurt with blueberries, banana, and coconut flakes.
7pm: Chicken tenders and waffle fries at Chick-Fil-A in Westwood. I've been craving this for months and it does not disappoint! I don't discriminate against fast food because good food is good food!
