I'm teaming up with TRESemme to share how I wore NYFW inspired runway hair to a beautiful Emmys dinner at Cafe Pinot!
When the Patina Group invited me to attend their Emmys viewing dinner at the gorgeous Cafe Pinot in Downtown LA, my first thought was, "of course!" followed by, "what am I going to do with my hair?" I'm no hair savant and although my straight long locks are sassy enough for everyday shenanigans, a fancy Emmys dinner with the restaurant group that's been plating the award show's Governor's Ball for twenty years called for something a bit more hair raising.
With NYFW still fresh on my mind, I moused through 'NYFW hair" on Pinterest and found inspiration in hair adornments, a trend that swept the runways. To compliment my gold sheath-y Reformation maxi dress, I adorned my hair with a gold hairband and decided to create 1920s bouncy curls with my Jose Eber curling wand and TRESemme Make Wave Shine Enhancing Cream, a hair-changing product that's part of their Runway Collection.
When curling my hair, I like to work with day old hair as a little bit of oil helps to seal in the curls. On dry, combed hair, I squeezed a dollup of the cream and worked it through every strand from root to tip. Then, I used the curling wand and curled one inch sections away from my face holding each curl for about 5 seconds. After I was done, I used just a pinch more of the Wave Shine cream which helped get rid of any remaining frizz.
We spent the afternoon at Cafe Pinot sipping on libations, dining on heirloom tomatoes, the tenderest beef tenderloin, the same chocolate ganache being served at The Governor's Ball, and watching pretty people in pretty dresses give pretty acceptance speeches. I couldn't think of a better way to smile through Sunday funday!
I'm truly impressed with the shine cream and from 9/13 to 10/31 you pick up any four TRESemme products from Target and receive a $5 Target gift!
