Beauty Break | New Year Red, Gold, and Emerald

I celebrated the last day of Chinese New Year with Privy and Chase at their 1930 Shanghai Gala. Adorned in a scarlet red mermaid gown from Forever Unique, I dressed my nails in glittery gold and emerald with the help of Sally Hansen.
On the morning of the gala, I took my Sally Hansen nail kit to Demitasse Cafe Santa Monica so that I could enjoy a cup of tea while blinging out my nails. Red, gold, and emerald are lucky colors in Chinese culture so I wanted to make sure all three hues made an appearance that night.

The 20-minute DIY sparkle session kickstarted my Saturday on a bright and brilliantly shiny note. In the afternoon, Glamsquad came over to create side parted spiral curls inspired by 1930s Shamghai. As for makeup, bordeaux lips from Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme in "Blow" and major falsies complimented my red gown and accentuated the retro glam look. I felt like a Shanghai Princess!

At the gala, I caught up with friends while conquering plate after plate of succulent seafood dishes created by Chef Henry Hua. The piece de resistance was the lobster tossed in Newport Seafood's signature garlic sauce, my favorite lobster dish in LA! As I looked around the room at all the beautifully dressed guests, I felt absolutely blessed to be ushering in 2015 in such a fabulous and delicious way!
