{GBF Life + Style} A Breather

The past few weeks passed in the lap of simplicity. Aside from a magical week in Orlando and Christmas in Vegas, I've been laying low and enjoying the life of a quintessential homebody. I watched a ton of movies {Wolf of Wall Street was a three hour party}, diligently exercised, diligently ate, and read my way to the halfway mark of Great Expectations. The de-cluttered schedule opened the path to mental clarity as I desperately needed the silence to hear answers. I have no idea what 2014 will bring and just like Britney Spears in her lukewarm 2002 movie, I find myself at a crossroad.

Spending Christmas in sin city was quite the wholesome reprieve. Alternating between eating and sleeping, the only additional caloric burn came from taking these pictures inside Caesar's Palace. I wore this festive outfit on Christmas Day to Ichiza, an amazing izakaya off the beaten strip. The look reminds me of Sharon Stone and her character in Casino. Ginger wore silk dresses and fur coats and was bathed in glamour and decadence. I loved her wardrobe yet couldn't help but want to reach into the screen and give her a big hug. Women who feel the need to dress up all the time are fated for a tragic ending. It's eerie to perpetually hide behind fur and silk. The body's got to unwind and breathe. If Ginger had worn yoga pants once in a while, she probably wouldn't have died penniless and from a drug overdose.

You don't have to worry about me. I've been living in spandex for the past three days.
