On our road to MAGIC, the Rue La La bus stopped in Calico for a photo shoot and lunch break. A ghost town and former mining community located in the hot deserts of the San Bernandino Valley, Calico is charming, quaint and hauntingly frozen in time. It's the perfect representation of the fleeting nature of life. Once a booming mining town bustling with opportunities and life, the town's lights darkened and dimmed as soon as the gold ceased to flicker.
I channeled my inner miner/prairie girl for the photo shoot and even shouldered a backpack in case I spot gold and need to be hands-free to do some digging.
